Morning

  • Departure: Begin your day early by departing from your accommodation in Moshi. The short drive to Rau Forest allows for an early start to your walking trip, maximizing your time in the forest.
  • Arrival and Briefing: Upon arrival at Rau Forest, meet with your local guide who will brief you on the day's walking route, the forest's ecological significance, and guidelines for ensuring a responsible visit.

Walking Trip

  • Forest Exploration: Start your guided walk through the forest. The path meanders through lush vegetation, offering a close look at the diverse flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for monkeys swinging through the trees and the colorful birds that call this forest home. Your guide will share insights about the medicinal plants found in the forest and the conservation efforts to protect this vital ecosystem.
  • Wetlands Visit: Part of your walk will include the forest's wetlands, where you can observe the unique aquatic plants and the birds that inhabit these areas. The wetlands are crucial for the local biodiversity and provide an opportunity to understand the interconnections within the ecosystem.
