Mahale Mountains National Park is one of the most striking parks in Tanzania. It is situated directly on Lake Tanganyika, with the misty and rugged Mahale mountain range running down its centre. Both Mahale and Ugalla forest are prime destinations for primate lovers, ornithologists, forest dwellers, and nature trailers. These areas offer active safari, while tracking chimpanzee on foot through dense forest and climbing mountains. Mahale’s over 900 protected chimpanzees are the main attraction inside the park.
Other activities in Mahale include relaxing or walking on the stretched white sandy beach with clean and clear water of Lake Tanganyika you can enjoy swimming or Ujiji sightseeing on the Lake by boats.
