Stone Town Tour

In the thick of Stone Town, as the afternoon dims towards evening, Forodhani Gardens transforms into a circus of calorific magnificence: welcome to Zanzibar’s spectacular night-time food market, a whirl of chefs juggling spitting pans. The aromas are fabulous, and the range of dishes is extraordinary. Bring a large appetite. You might be familiar with some of the offerings – kebabs of tandoori lobster, say, or falafel as big as your fist. Prison Island Tour

A half-hour boat trip from Zanzibar, Prison Island provides a fascinating glimpse into the island’s slightly dark past – this land was once used as a place where slaves were detained and, when slavery was abolished, it functioned as a camp where people with deadly diseases were sent. Fortunately enough, that is all in the past and today the island is a nature reserve for giant tortoises and a place to see the ruins that once functioned as the prison. While on the island you will be able to swim, snorkelling and learn a lot of tropical fishes which are found around Indian Ocean.

Visit Jozani Forest

A vast and scenic spread of green, Jozani is the last indigenous forest left on Zanzibar. Located inland from Jozani Chwaka Bay the area often floods, which luckily nurtures a unique swamp forest of many amazing looking trees and ferns. The forest is best reached via bus, by chartered taxi, or as part of an organized tour. The tour can take 3 to 4 hours, the forest holds one among the rare and endemic spice of red colobus monkey, that can only been seen here in the forest. Visit Nungwi Beach

Nungwi is a village boasting a few of Zanzibar’s most breath taking beaches. On this tour you will see picture worthy shores where local woodworkers build wooden dhows, as they have for centuries. Nearby, you will visit the Mnarani Natural Aquarium and feed sea turtles. After this, the rest of the day you are free to enjoy the beach. If you wish, a visit to the Portuguese Ruins can be included in your tour. The water sports are plentiful, as are sundown cruises, and you can organise deep-sea fishing excursions in search of leaping sailfish and mean-looking bull dorado.
